Singles Competition

We had an impressive field at the Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open 2016.
The word spread fast as the people from the entire region understood what was going on in the Parc des Eaux-Vives. The finest tennis was played from May 14th-21th.

No wonder that the final ended up beeing the clash between the two Grand Slam Champions present at the Tennis Club de Genève: Marin Cilic vs. Stan Wawrinka.
People from all over the country came to Geneva to cheer Stan's first vicotory in his homeland.
After taking the first set, Stan The Man had to run behind Cilic and fought hard to stay in the second set. With a great support from the crowd Wawrinka saved several set points for Cilic and they went to the Tiebracker.
It was then, when the Vaudois pulled off his best tennis to crown himself CHAMPION of the Banque Eric Sturdza Geneva Open 2016.
